James Merrill is an internationally recognized visual artist who focuses on the application of computational processes to physical mediums. His art practice often utilizes generative algorithms and creative uses of mathematics. He employs a fleet of drawing machines to create works on paper that originate from these algorithms, thus producing physical manifestations of the code, which are always unique due to randomization.
